The CSIT world sports games 2013 were held in Varna, Grand hotel Varna within the period June 2nd- 9th, 2013.
The games were hosted by the Bulgarian Workers Federation “Sport and Health” together with CITUB and Varna Municipality and the active support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. About 3000 sportsmen took part in the games, competing in 19 sports. Fairly called by some medias – mini Olympic games, the latter were held at very good organization and high competition.
Sport Club Svilosa – Svishtov was also part of this large-scale sport initiative. We took part in the disciplines listed below:
- Table tennis – women
- Table tennis – men
- Athletics:
- High jump – men
- Running 800 m – men
- Running 1500 m – men
Our results were more than impressive, i.e. the table tennis team – men consisting of the following players - Ivan Aleksandrov, Mihail Drumev and Tihomir Petrov finished on 7th place, having a total of 3 wins and 3 losses. The three games were lost against extremely good teams in the person of Israel, Belarus, and the hosts of Varna Municipality. The table tennis team – women consisting of the following players – Venelina Tsvetkova, Miroslava Koleva, Marieta Georgieva and Svetla Kiryakova finished on the second place after the favorites of China. Concerning the athletics we achieved two second places – Ivan Popov – 1500 m and Sava Todorov – 800 m. We won also an exclusive gold medal at high jump – men. Victor Ninov achieved the impressive 223 cm and surpass the rivals far behind. It could be said that Sports Club Svilosa had an excellent presentation already at the first big competition where it participated. From now on we could expect better results not only for the professionals, but also for the regular members of the club.
