Official opening of the Plant for utilization of waste biomass for heat and electricity generation.

Today, August 31st, 2023, in Svilosa AD took place an official opening of the Plant for utilization of waste biomass for heat and electricity generation.
The plant is designed and manufactured by Jinan Boiler Group Co Ltd. It amounts at BGN 70 mln, 50% of which are Svilosa AD’s own funds and the rest is a loan from UBB.
The new plant has a capacity of 65 t steam and 16 MW electricity per hour, which will be utilized for the pulp production. The excess will be sold on the market.
There are 50 new jobs created. The professionals from Jinan Boiler Group are in charge of the personnel training.
The completed project is one more step towards the waste biomass utilization, energy efficiency increasing as well as it has a significant contribution to improvement of the environmental situation in the region.

- Mr. Teodor Marinov – Executive Director and member of Management Board of United Bulgarian Bank
- Prof. Zahari Zahariev – Chairman of National Association “Belt and Road Initiative”
Once the ribbon was cut by Mrs Yotova, Mr. Yang Xu and Mr. Krasimir Dachev – the owner of Svilosa AD, the word was given to the guests.
The Vice President Mrs Yotova announced this is one good news for Bulgaria. She thanked to all participating in the projects with the following words: „Thanks that you believed in the power of this team and its management and supported its construction.”
During her visit the Vice President examined the production process and meet the workers of Svishtov plant.
On behalf of Chinese workers hearty congratulations and thanks to the owner of Svilosa AD expressed H.E. Mr. Dong Xiaojun – the Chinese Ambassador in Bulgaria.
China and Bulgaria have always supported each other and encouraged the successful performance of this project.
“The completion of this quality project has positive benefit as for the social and economic development as well as for the environmental improvement in the area. This project demonstrates high engineering and technical level of China which for sure will attract more Chinese enterprises” – said the Chinese Ambassador.
„I am glad that one of our government has dared to visit the working class” – said Krasimir Dachev. “We have gathered here in order to start a project that has not been performed in Bulgaria since 1989. During the last 4-5 years the State reduced the wood harvesting that caused significant difficulties to us”.
Currently Svilosa has stopped its activity due to the dissatisfied wood market but we will not give up because of these difficulties. The above mentioned investment was a long-term one. The same was the situation with gas supply investment, and beside this the Microcrystalline cellulose plant project is about to start soon, mentioned Mr.Dachev.
