Issuance of the first emission reductions of Svilocell’s GS project

Svilocell conducted its first verification of the Svilosa Biomass Project under the voluntary mechanism Gold Standard (GS). Verification was carried out by the independent company, i.e. RINA SERVICES – Bulgaria, that is accredited by the Executive Board under the Clean Development Mechanism of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It corresponds to all the requirements for conducting verifications of GS projecтs. The first verification report that confirms the amount of 192 035 t emission reductions within the monitoring period August 19th 2013 – October 31st 2015 was issued.

In accordance to the Minister of Environment and Water’s order was issued a certificate for cancelling the equivalent amount of Assigned Amount Units (AAUs) in reference to a Scheme for voluntary emission reduction in the National registry for GHG emission trading.

On July 18th, 2016 the emissions were issued by the GS and for the time being they are available in the Svilocell’s account in the GS.
